John D. Rockefeller-
John D. Rockefeller had always donated money, he gave to his church, to educational and health causes, and also to science and the arts. He pretty much donated mainly to schools and colleges because he believed that it was worth spending a little more money so that people can be more educated, and that it would go a long way. I think that him donating to the medical science facilities was the most worth while. It is pretty much what started all of the advanced research and improved technology we have today.
Andrew Carnegie-
Andrew Carnegie also donated a bunch of money to social and educational causes. He promoted the spreading of the English language and established several libraries throughout the U.S. and many other English-speaking countries. In all, he established and funded around 3,000 libraries. The efforts that I think were the most worth while was that he wanted to spread the English language around so that more people could be educated. If he had not done this, who knows what language we could be speaking now, or how educated we would be about the language.
